Guidelines for CHESF Sports Chairperson

Thank you for volunteering to be the CHESF Sports Chairperson.  It is our goal to provide information to our membership to encourage students’ participation and support of the teams. We are looking forward to a great year and appreciate your involvement. 

 CHESF supports Lee County Home School Sports Association (LCHSSA) who is in charge of coordinating the coaches, teams and games.  Your role is to be the liaison between CHESF and LCHSSA and communicate details to our membership of any sports being offered by LCHSSA.

 CHESF offers a website, monthly e-mail newsletter and Yahoo Email Group.  Utilize these media outlets to publicize sports events. Here are some guidelines of what your responsibilities would include:

?         At beginning of each sports season, provide CHESF members with requirements to participate, tryout schedule and coach/contact person, e-mail and phone number.

?         Provide game schedules to be posted on website and if desired, update standings.

?         Write up news articles for the monthly newsletter about games, the teams or individual players and submit to Newsletter Editor by 28^th of each month.

?         Encourage CHESF support by sending occasional updates/E-mail to CHESF Chatter Yahoo Group.

?         Respond to all member inquiries in a timely manner.

?         Keep Field Trip and Activities Coordinator updated as to your progress.

?         Inform Steering Committee of any concerns of LCHSSA.

?         Obtain copy of LCHSSA liability insurance coverage.

?         Obtain electronic or hard copies of the LCHSSA budget

?         Obtain  and finance reports and forward to the Steering Committee at least quarterly.

?         Obtain copies of LCHSSA requests for donations, sources and uses of funds.
