This is our big end of the year event to give all the glory to God and honor

the students who have met their goals for the year. We encourage every

CHESF family to come and celebrate these accomplishments with us.

There will be a special cap and gown ceremony for our Kindergarteners

and Seniors while the participating underclassmen will receive a

certificate of completion. A cake and punch reception will follow the

ceremony to honor all of our students with special recognition for each of

the CHESF Seniors.

 

For those who are participating, please make yourself aware of the schedule:

  Thursday, May 15 6:30pm Rehearsal

Please be prompt and all underclassmen will be dismissed by 7:30.

Seniors should plan to stay until 9:00 and be prepared to do sound checks

around 8:15.

9:00 Set up in Gym

11:00 Set up in Sanctuary

12:00 Seniors arrive

Picture Schedule: Lifetouch will be taking photos.  There will be forms available for pre-purchase orders.

 Elementary Activities

  

Ostego Bay Marine Science Center Field Trip

                     718 Fisherman’s Wharf , Ft. Myers Beach        765-8101

                     Tuesday – May 20

                     Meeting Time: 9:45 AM

 

            Cost: $5.00 per person/

             $20 max per family

 

The Center provides a marine science experience through interactive exhibits, aquariums, hands on tank, collections and

displays. Following a time at the Science Center we will then receive a tour of the local shrimping industry at the docks where we can expect to see actual shrimp boats and local businesses that are involved in supporting this industry.

Lunch: Please consider bringing a picnic lunch which we can enjoy at a nearby beach park following our tour.

(Additional donations are acceptable and anyone who would like to attend, but can’t because of financial reasons should contact Julie)

 Middle School Activities

   

Prince Caspian Hits The Big Screen!

This month our middle school aged students and families are invited to embark on an adventure into Narnia with the Pevensie children, and of course Caspian himself. Due to the uncertainty of the premiere date the actual date for this field trip remains to be announced. We will meet on a Monday (if show times permit) at the Gulf Coast Town Center Stadium 16 before 3p.m. (as close to noon as show times permit). Ticket prices are $7.00 for children 3-11, and adult tickets are $7.50. If discount prices are negotiated, you will be notified promptly via CHESFchatter. A call for attendance will also be posted on CHESFchatter a few days prior to the movie date. Any questions should be directed to Julie Horton at dynamic4him@yahoo.com.

 Used Curriculum Fair

       

CHESF Annual Used Curriculum Fair

Friday, June 6th

7:00 – 9:00

Christ Community Church of Fort Myers

 

Mark your calendars for CHESF's annual end-of-the-year book sale.  Start sorting those items on your shelves that you want to sell and begin making a list of things you need for next year. 

  SELLERS:   Space will be available on a first come basis. 

                      $2.00 - CHESF members and $4.00 for non-members.

Fee will be collected at the door.

Bring your own table.  There are a limited number of tables available to those who RSVP first. 

Set up will begin at 6:00 and participants will be allowed to shop early from 6:30 – 7:00.

CHESF YEARBOOK CANDID PHOTOS

What’s that you say....You need Candid Photos for the CHESF Yearbook?

 Yes We Do!!   We are still looking for those great photos!!

Help us create great pages with your photos of CHESF Events, Family Vacations, Field Trips, Sports, Educational and Ministry Opportunities.  We are also looking for Family Group Pictures representing everyone in your family.     

Please turn in any photos of events you have attended or participated in….CHESF Picnic, Pilgrim Day Fair, Calusa Nature Center, ECHO, Science Fair, Christmas Caroling, the Nutcracker and Habitat for Humanity, Valentine's Party, Talent Show, Educational Fair.

We will continue to collect your “candid photos” throughout the school year as events take place.

We are asking that you submit DIGITAL photos this year rather than prints.   If you normally use 35 mm film or disposable camera, please ask for a photo CD at the time you develop your prints.   Prints may also be scanned by yearbook staff if necessary.

Make sure that you include details about the event and names of persons in photo.

    YEARBOOK PORTRAITS

We have received the rest of the portrait packages from Lifetouch. Caleb Carvell will have them available at the CHESF April meeting. He will also be collecting payment for packages and any photos you do not want to purchase.

 

INFANT THROUGH KINDERGARTEN  -   If you have a child infant-Kindergarten, please send us a cute photo so we can add them in as well. Send to photos@chesf.org

 In order to keep yearbook costs at a minimum, we need to sell ads.  If you or someone you know would like to place an ad (or sentiment to a student) in the 2007-2008 Footprints yearbook, please print and fill out the ad form.

Advance orders are now being taken for the 2007-2008 Yearbooks. 

Cost is $25.00.  You must purchase your yearbook by May 28th deadline in order to receive a yerbook.  Yearbooks printed will be based on pre-sales only.

     CHESF Elections

           Meet your CHESF Officers for 2008-2009:

                             Julie Horton               -   Treasurer


 

Officers for 2008-2009 school year were elected at the CHESF meeting held on April 14th.  The Coordinator positions are now being filled, and in July the new Steering Committee will commence planning for next year. 

As a parent lead support group each member is encouraged to serve in some position of leadership.  Please consider your gifts, and let one of the officers know how you will help next year.  Our organization is only as strong as the members who support it.  Please volunteer so that more activities are offered for our children.
