Welcome and congratulations on
your decision to homeschool! Is it the right thing for my child? You only need
to experience one homeschool graduation ceremony to answer that question. Can I
successfully educate my child? You taught them to walk and talk, dress and feed
themselves, and understand right from wrong; you’ve already taught them some of
the toughest stuff. Now it’s time to enjoy your children!
Today’s homeschooling parents are
overwhelmed with a multitude of teaching philosophies and methods, the latest
popular turn-key curriculum packages, and friends who have done it successfully
a certain way for years. The web is overflowing with resources and advice for
homeschooling parents. You have the opportunity and responsibility to do it
your way; to seek what is the most effective for your children.
CHESF is a committed body of Christian
homeschooling families willing to share our experiences with you. Having
learned ourselves by bumps, bruises, mistakes, and by correcting our course, we
have grown to understand and implement that which reaches the heart of our
children. CHESF has designated mentors who are a tremendous source of
encouragement and insight to help you get started or help you along on your
homeschooling journey.
We offer on-going activities like
workshops, science and curriculum fairs, moms-night-outs, picnics, and field
trips, just to name a few. Creating opportunities to get to know one another
and establish lasting relationships is among our highest priorities.
We recognize that homeschooling is a
calling from God. It will be difficult. There will be opposition and obstacles
to success. He will give us all that is necessary to fulfill the call. No
matter how intelligent, gifted, organized, motivated, and educated we may be, we
have to realize that there will be times when we will run out of physical,
mental, and emotional resources to meet the challenges.
It is our goal to be an instrument of
encouragement and support to your family.
Thank you for giving us that opportunity,
Dennis Osterhouse – President, CHESF
Ephesians 4:1-2 As a prisoner
for the Lord, then, I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have
received. Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another
in love.
